EXANTE Director visits his native country, Ireland, now considered the fastest growing economy in the EU

Ireland’s resilient economic model now makes it one of the best-performing advanced economies in the world, both hub for international financial services and tech companies. The south of Ireland has steadily become an emerging centre for international financial services. The regional capital, Cork, has the second largest concentration of companies in the international financial services sector in the country and is home to one of Ireland’s most successful fintech firms, Fexco.

The international financial services sector in the southwest is diverse, consisting of firms in fund administration and asset management, banking, insurance, financial technologies, and support and advisory services. The region's sector consists of foreign firms and local enterprises, e.g., Alter Domus, Apex, BNY Mellon, Clearstream, Fexco, Global Shares, JRI America, Monex, Remitely, and World Nomads.

EXANTE Director Patrick O'Brien was recently invited to Ireland to meet with the Central Bank as well as with The Lord Mayor of Cork, Keiran McCarthy, Cork's First Citizen. During their meeting at the historic city hall, they discussed various topics as well as Patrick's work abroad.

"It was an honour for me to visit City Hall and to meet with its Lord Mayor and discuss how Cork, my native home, has both the ambition and the capacity to become a leading European financial and business hub," stated Patrick OBrien.
