The 13th Annual European Single Manager Awards will be taking place at the Royal Garden hotel, Kensington, London on May 29th, 2013. The Hedge Funds Review event recognises the best hedge funds in Europe, shortlisted by an expert judging panel that reviews the risk and return characteristics of the top funds in each category.
To qualify for the performance categories, with the exception of sub -$100 million categories and the emerging managers' awards, funds must report three years of net returns and have a minimum of $100 million of assets under management in the fund and/or strategy. Emerging managers are defined as those with a track record of two years or less. For these categories, there is no minimum AUM requirement, however the fund must have been launched by on or before December 31, 2012 and have a substantial presence in Europe.
Hedge funds are also invited to enter the qualitative categories that recognize achievements in product development, innovation, client service and excellence in the industry by both groups and individuals.
Guest speaker at this year's award dinner is Philippa Malmgren, a politics and policy expert. She is a former special assistant to the US President for economic policy on the National Economic Council and former member of the US President's Working Group on Financial Markets. At present, she is president of the Canonbury Group and co-founder of Principalis Asset Management.
