The supermarkets are full of chocolate bunnies and the daffodils are in full bloom it can only mean one thing: the Easter holidays are here.

It also means investors can forget about jittery markets for a while and take a well deserve break, as European stock exchanges will close for a four-day spring hiatus. Volumes are expected to be thinner than usual in the final sessions before the holidays, which could mean extra volatility in the financial markets. Please note that thee following region’s major stock exchanges will stop trading during Easter holidays, from Good Friday till Ester Monday:

U.K.’s FTSE 100 index UKX, -0.29%  
Germany’s DAX 30 index DAX, -0.38%  
France’s CAC 40 index PX1, -0.59%  
Spain’s IBEX 35 index IBEX, -0.33%  
Italy’s FTSE MIB I945, -1.16%  

European bond markets will also be closed today and on Easter Monday.
