On March 30, we had a pleasure to organise and host a reception on the occasion of the Kazakh national holiday, Nauryz-Meiram, which symbolises the renewal of nature.
The celebration held in Riga, was attended by the key members of the Kazakhstan’s Consulate in Riga, Latvian ministers, prominent journalists, and the jet-set of the local business community.
As noted by the Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Latvia, Mr. Baurzhan Mukhamejanov, Nauryz has become a holiday widely celebrated and eagerly awaited by most citizens of Kazakhstan.
‘Over 130 diverse ethnic and national groups now make up Kazakhstan’s popularity. Thus, Nauryz is considered to be a feast of friendship, unity, and the vernal equinox that marks the beginning of the new eastern year. People say that all wishes made on Nauryz-Meiram come true. May Nauryz-Meiram bring joy, happiness and consent to all nations of the globe’, the diplomat concluded in his speech.
During the celebration, Mr. Mukhamejanov awarded the member of the Latvian Parliament, Andrey Klementiev, and the Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Uldis Reimanis, with medals on the '25 Years of Kazakhstan's Independence'. In accordance with the edict of the President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, they have been also rewarded for their considerable impact in building friendship between Kazakhstan and Latvia.
At the event, the guests had a chance to enjoy the vibrant national dances, authentic sound of Kazakh domra music, and the unique taste of an eastern cuisine.
We at EXANTE are glad that we managed to gather various national and ethnic groups residing in Latvia to celebrate this lively holiday of spring revival.
