On May 17, for the first time EXANTE team participated in the 25th Riga marathon. Team of 10 participants represented our company in three different courses: Marathon (42,195 km), 10 km course and 5 km course.
Despite unfavourable weather conditions with driving rain carried by strong northern winds, our team gave it all they had. Everyone drove themselves to the finish line with passion.
Most of our participants were a first-time runners and this race became a real story for them. Against all the odds, a well planned pre-marathon training period helped them to do a great job and run 5km and 10km races.
Having fewer than 100 employees, EXANTE was truly proud to have a real marathon runner among its staff: Natalia Tarasevich did full distance of 42 km in 4:03:56 hours.
Olya Oleh, EXANTE’s marketing communication manager and prime mover of company’s participation in the marathon says: “Our team believe that running is like reaching your business objective. Regardless the fact that is not an easy feat, the training and running of marathons can teach us all a lot about dedication, drive and perseverance. When you start training and finally run your first distance, no matter if it is 5 km, 10 km or a half-marathon, you realize that it is surprisingly similar to some of the biggest goals you have in your live. The way runners think about, train for and run the marathon can be compared to how we should think about, train for and accomplish some of our biggest life ambitions. We can always push our limits and do whatever we put our minds to.”
To sum up, EXANTE team enjoyed being part of such a great sport event and hope this marathon will become a nice annual tradition that promotes healthy lifestyle for all company’s staff.
